Week 27 of pregnancy

What's Happening with Baby
Your baby is very active now, doing lots of kicking and stretching. They can now open and close their eyes and may even be seen sucking their thumb. Because there is still not much fat under the skin, it continues to look wrinkled.
Your baby is now about 14 1/2 inches long (the size of a head of lettuce) and weighs around 2 pounds. Their lungs and nervous system continue to develop and mature, preparing them for life outside the womb.

What You Might Experience
As your abdomen and chest continue to enlarge, you may develop stretch marks. Continuing to apply moisturizers several times a day can help keep your skin hydrated. You will probably find that you have to urinate more often as the baby grows and puts more pressure on your bladder.
Don't be surprised if you feel a strong, sharp pain or jolt every now and then—this can happen when the baby hits your bladder during one of their active moments!

Key Things to Keep in Mind
You must bear in mind that pregnancy consumes a great deal of your energy. To cope with the increasing demands, keep up your strength, and enjoy your pregnancy, it's important to maintain a healthy, balanced diet.
This is also a great time to explore activities that can help you prepare for labor. Yoga teaches you to control your breathing and to concentrate during contractions, both of which are very useful skills for birth.
