We use the GE Voluson 730 ultrasound machine which is the best in the business. Through revolutionary technology, the GE Voluson works by continuously updating a 3 dimensional picture which provides you with a â€œlive actionâ€ 4-D view of your baby.

A liquid jelly will be applied to your skin to improve contact between your body and the ultrasound transducer. The transducer is then moved slowly over your abdomen. This transducer is connected at the other end to a computer with a display screen.

The Voluson 730 uses high frequency sound waves and their echoes to create a picture of your baby. This information is then converted by the computer into a 3-D image of your baby. Ultrasound scanning works similarly to sonar systems used by ships and fish finders.

The fourth dimension is time. A 4-D ultrasound is a moving 3-D image of your baby. Any yawn, eye-opening, or thumb-sucking will be seen and captured on the video.
